We take great pride in creating an immaculate and comfortable environment.

Penryn House is run by Chris and Sam, who returned to Cornwall to begin an exciting new chapter running a place they love. With strong Cornish roots and many years spent away working as teachers in Wiltshire, coming back to Cornwall felt like the right moment for a new adventure.

Together with their three children — Charlie, Thomas and Max — Chris and Sam now call Penryn House home. Family life is very much part of the atmosphere here, creating a relaxed, welcoming place for guests to stay.

You’ll also be greeted by Pixel and Roxie, the family dogs, who are always happy to make new friends. Their presence reflects our genuinely dog-friendly approach and our belief that holidays are better when the whole family, including four-legged members, can come along too.

Our Promise to You

Penryn House is about offering comfortable accommodation, thoughtful hospitality and a friendly, personal welcome. We want guests to feel at ease from the moment they arrive, whether they’re visiting for a weekend break or a longer stay exploring Polperro and the Cornish coast. We want you to feel at home at Penryn House, whether you are looking for a relaxing break to charge you batteries or an active holiday, we are here to look after you.

Bar & Lounge

Our lounge and bar provides a welcoming space to relax, unwind, or enjoy a quiet moment during your stay. Comfortable sofas and wicker chairs create a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for reading a book, catching up on the news, or enjoying conversation with friends — old and new alike.

A warming log burner adds to the cosy atmosphere, making the lounge inviting even on cooler evenings. The bar offers a carefully selected range of wines, ciders, and spirits, with a focus on Cornish producers, providing a taste of the region in a relaxed setting.

During the longer summer evenings, the decking offers a peaceful spot to sit outside, enjoy a refreshing drink, and watch the village life unfold.
