Directions & Parking

Getting Here by Car

Cornwall’s smaller roads can sometimes confuse satellite navigation systems, particularly in and around Polperro. We recommend following the directions below once you reach the county..

From Exeter: From Exeter, the M5 becomes the A38. Stay on the A38, following signs towards Plymouth. Before reaching Plymouth city centre, remain on the A38 heading for the Tamar Bridge and continue towards Liskeard.

After approximately 10 miles, you will reach a large roundabout at Trerulefoot. Turn left onto the A374. After about one mile, turn right onto the A387, signed for Looe. Continue down into Looe and follow signs for Polperro (A387), crossing the bridge as you leave the town.

Arriving in Polperro: After passing the “Welcome to Polperro” sign, descend the winding hill into the village until you reach a mini roundabout, with the main car park on your right. Turn left onto The Coombes, following the road into the village past the “Restricted Access” sign.

Guests staying at Penryn House are permitted to drive into the village. After approximately 300 yards, you will see our sign on the left-hand side. Please approach on the right-hand side of the road to allow enough space to turn into the entrance, which crosses a narrow bridge over the stream.

We have parking spaces available for all our guests.

By Bus

We are serviced by Plymouth City Bus on the 73 and 72 routes. We also have a bus service to Polruan on the Traveline 489 service, week days only.

By Train

Our nearest mainline railway station is Liskeard and this is serviced by GWR and Cross Country Trains. There is a branch line from Liskeard to Looe – which is very picturesque.

 By Plane

The nearest airport is Newquay, about a 45 minute drive or Exeter, which should take you about 75 minutes.
